Major public safety endorsement strengthens Torrico as consensus choice
for California rank and file public safety and law enforcement personnel
Los Angeles, CA – The California Professional Firefighters (CPF) today announced its endorsement of Alberto Torrico for Attorney General. With their endorsement, CPF joins a growing list of public safety groups across the state that have endorsed Torrico for Attorney General.

With the campaign just a few months old, Torrico has been endorsed by the 62,000-member strong Peace Officers Research Association of California, the state’s largest law enforcement organization, as well as the Oakland Police Officers’ Association, the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of Alameda County, the Contra Costa Deputy Sheriffs' Association, the Fresno Deputy Sheriffs' Association, the Fresno Police Officers’ Association, the Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers' Association, the Los Angeles School Police Association, the Ontario Police Officers' Association, the Placer County Deputy Sheriffs' Association, the Sacramento Police Officers' Association, the San Bernardino County Safety Employees' Benefit Association, the Deputy Sheriffs' Association of San Diego County, the San Jose Police Officers' Association, the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of Santa Clara County, the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of Santa Cruz County, the Solano County Sheriffs' Custody Association, the Stockton Police Officers’ Association and the Upland Police Officers' Association.
Lou Paulson, President of the California Professional Firefighters said, “Throughout his career, Alberto Torrico has been a strong, uncompromising voice for first responders, their families and the citizens we serve. He has stood with California’s firefighters in good times and bad and we are proud to stand with him.”
Dave Gillotte, President of International Association of Firefighters Local 1014 said, “Los Angeles County Firefighters are proud to support Alberto Torrico for Attorney General. He has long stood with us - fighting for more resources and equipment for Los Angeles emergency first responders and for all California emergency response personnel. Torrico has earned the support of the line firefighters - and proven that he's the right choice for Attorney General to keep our families and our neighborhoods safe.”
Torrico, whose brother is a veteran San Jose Police Officer, said of the CPF endorsement, “I am so proud to have the endorsement of California Professional Firefighters – these are the men and women on the line every day keeping Californians safe. As Attorney General, I will continue my work to make sure that California firefighters have the equipment and training they need to do their job safely and effectively.”
Torrico reported the strongest cash-on-hand position among Attorney General candidates in July. He is the second ranking Democrat in the State Assembly, representing parts of both Alameda and Santa Clara counties.
