California’s Leading Public Safety Groups Unite Behind
Alberto Torrico for AG

Police Chiefs, Fire Chiefs, Professional Firefighters and Peace Officers join scores of other public safety groups who assert Torrico is candidate most competent, capable and committed to California’s public safety.

SACRAMENTO, CA – Public safety agrees: Alberto Torrico is the candidate most competent, capable and committed to keeping California safe. In the hotly contested Democratic Primary to become California’s next “top cop,” Alberto Torrico has earned support from all the major public safety organizations representing both rank-and-file personnel and top leadership officials.

“The most salient responsibility of the Attorney General is to keep California safe,” said Ron Cottingham, President of the Peace Officers Research Association of California – the largest public safety organization in the state. “Alberto Torrico is the candidate who peace officers trust most to turn our hazardous work on the streets into a conviction in the courtroom that will stick and keep dangerous criminals in jail where they belong.”

California Police Chiefs Association member Craig Steckler added, “I believe that Alberto Torrico’s experience and long standing commitment to public safety is something we need in California. The job is too important to elect a candidate that has not proven their ability to protect our communities.”

Torrico’s ability to secure the endorsement of rank-and-file peace officers, firefighters as well as the statewide association of chiefs for both police and firefighters is remarkable in this crowded field of candidates. These endorsements highlight Alberto Torrico’s career of fighting for public safety while working to bring sensible solutions to California’s challenges.

“Alberto Torrico’s unblemished record on public safety speaks for itself,” said Lou Paulson, President of the California Professional Firefighters. “California and its neighborhoods will be best served with Alberto Torrico as Attorney General – the candidate who has fought to secure the resources emergency first-responders need to keep our state safe.”

“We are both proud and eager to support Alberto Torrico in his candidacy to become California’s next Attorney General,” added Sheldon Gilbert, President of the California Fire Chiefs Association. “Alberto Torrico is the candidate most competent, capable and committed to keeping California safe.”

“The people of California deserve an Attorney General with the experience of collaboration with and complete confidence from our state’s front-line public safety personnel,” said Alberto Torrico. “As Attorney General, I will continue my fight to keep California safe by standing with public safety and investing in our best crime-fighting tool: education.”

The 60,000-member Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), the 30,000-member California Professional Firefighters (CPF), the 1,400-member California Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) and the 1,100-member California Fire Chiefs Association are joined by the Alameda County Deputy Sheriff's Association, Bay Area Rapid Transit Police, California Asian Peace Officers' PAC, Contra Costa County Deputy Sheriff's Association, Fresno Deputy Sheriff's Association, Fresno Police Officers Association, Imperial County Deputy Sheriffs' Association, Los Angeles School Police Association, Mountain View Police Officers Association, Napa Police Officers Association, Oakland Police Officers Association, Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs' Association, Sacramento Police Officers' Association, Sacramento Probation Officers' Association, San Bernardino County Safety Employees Benefit Association, San Bernardino Police Officers' Association, San Diego County Deputy Sheriff's Association, San Diego County District Attorney Investigator's Association, San Diego Police Officers' Association, San Diego School Police Officers' Association, San Joaquin County Probation Officers Association, San Joaquin Deputy Sheriffs' Association, San Jose Police Officers Association, Santa Cruz County Deputy Sheriff's Association, Santa Cruz Police Officers’ Association, Sonoma County Law Enforcement Association, Stockton Police Officers Association and scores of other public safety organizations who support Alberto Torrico for Attorney General.
